Exhausting weekend soup
I am so tired that I skipped gym today. Skipping Monday gym is like skipping church for a faithful religious person for me. But I am just really not feeling it today.

Moving along~~~~ next.

By LA standard of course. It is freezing 40 degrees. I think I am not speaking just for myself when I say we are all broken due to the sub zero temperature. ok maybe a bit exaggerated. But you get the idea how I feel right now.
It is 1:00am and I have to wake up in 4 hours to go to Big Bear Mountain for snowboard. It should be fun you know. Supposedly we got about 1 foot snow, powder. Plus there is a blizzard moving in tommorrow, so we will be all buried under snow while we snowboard. yeay~~~ fun.... >_<...
I actually start to enjoy snowboarding. I don't know what it is this season, somehow I just got better at it. I still have trouble on my toe position and switching positions usually results in a dramatic tumbling fall. But if I really just want to enjoy the ride I could heel down the entire trip fairly fast. So there is always this option to just go down and pretend I am kinda good. But I am making progress. As long as I am improving I am happy. It is for fun anyway. I am not competing in Olympics anytime soon. That being said, I do not understand why my friend thinks that 6:00am departure time is absolutely necessary. I think 4-5 hours of boarding is fun, but 8 hours sound a bit like a training session. Besides, if a blizzard really moves in on us while we are on the mountain, I would be actually kinda pissed. It'd hard enough to learn with a clear weather, you know, when you are kinda warm and able to SEE stuff in front of you. (side note, I crashed into him, I think I almost chopped his chin off last time). I just can't imagine how miserable it'd be when I stand there for 10 mins to get a on a lift which takes another 10 mins to get to the top. While I am in air, the wind chill will probably just freeze me. But I DO KNOw how good powder snow feels, so I guess I should stop bitching and moaning and just enjoy the trip.
But I have to mention is that simple things kinda reflect how individuals differ from each other. For me, fun and relaxation are first priorities when it comes to recreation. It doesn't mean that I don't take on challenges; I just simply like to do things without much constrain. On the other hand, my friend has a military kind of style. Especially when it comes to physical activities. He could go on forever till his body crashes and burns. I just don't see the point. I like to savor the details and go for long term entertainment. I want to make every trip of mine a pleasant one. Nothing is over indulged so that I always want more. I do like epic trips but I do not like epic trips resulting 1 week of rehabilitation.
I don't know why I am going on and on about this, I just think it is kinda interesting to see the difference. It is like a mirror that reflects how you live your life in a way really. Well at least it is interesting to reflect on this now. I am telling you, I was not happy when I received a text this morning at 8 30, stuck in traffic on the free way, which read "just a heads up, we are leaving at 6 sharp, do not be late". I kinda wanted to punch him.
Anyways... sleeping now. For sure I will need it. hmmm you know what, I am gonna sleep all the way to the mountain as my way of protesting this god forsaken early hour departure...

This is my last hard finals out of the four I have this semester. The last final is a take-home final which means bunch people will "do" it together and turn them in lol... Talking about that, I need to call my friends and see who has the answers already.
Today's final was for Financial Derivatives. Basically it is the introduction course in the field but concentration course offered in USC for this major. We "learned" to value options, forward contracts, and variations of similar financial instruments in hope of hedge risks in making investment decisions. The final was... I guess it was kinda easy. There, I just jinxed myself lol... But with the help of a 2 sheets of official cheat sheets allowed for finals, I didn't leave anything blank. After the final was over, I compared my answers with my friend and it seems like I should be ok. At least I should be able to hit the curve. However, I did discover a problem that I think I got wrong. It was the stupid interest swaptions and I think I used the paying arm - the receiving arm so the value was positive whereas my friend's answer was negative. bah.... too late to think about this shit now.
I want to say that I regret that I didn't look at that part more but honestly all I can say is that I am so glad it is over.
The bitter sweetness is even more evident as the last days of my entire college years approaching. I want to cheer but I really want to cry at the same time. I am no longer a teen. Well that one was long gone lol.. Ok I am no longer a young adult. I am entering my adulthood that just sounds so god damn old. I don't want to be old and become a part of this stupid rat race. This is frightening.
Oh well, I think I need to relax a bit now. haha.
Update
I forgot to mention that today it is almost 100 degrees in LA. It was barely 80 yesterday. So it is definitely a huge jump in temperature. I love it. I can already see myself at the beach hahahaha. But it is only May and it is already 100 I wonder if this year the temperature would break 115-120 mark. Global warming is coming!!!!!!! poor polar bears

It is bad enough that my least favorite group decided to meet and do an ACL project. The people in that group are just utterly unpleasant. Well, what can I expect, these are hardcore accountants. Especially there is a guy named Jason, he must think he is very cool, rocking with two gigantic diamond stud earring. But I think those are fugly and does not work well on his stick thin frame.
On top of this, the weather is fucked up. It is almost fucking May, and this is LA, and IT IS RAINING right now. It is hard enough to wake up at this god forsaken hour on a Friday, but when it is raining I just really want to curl up in a ball in my bed. >_<~~~~~
Oh yeah, did I mention I am starving....
Update
Got school, the rain became hysteric. Of course, given California's almost non-existing sewer system, campus was flooded. My feet, which were in a pair of sandals, soon became numb to the cold air and my jeans became wet up to my calves.
Went in the library saw my group, said hi, the fucking Jason guy made some smart ass comment for me being late and I returned something that was lame with equally unpleasant attitude. Then we started the dread project. It wasn't too hard, finished kinda fast. Then I was just glad to leave those people.
My friend and I walked to the car and I got my workout shit and headed to the gym on campus. This is my first time using the school gym, so I was kinda excited to check it out. It went a bit sunny and I was happy. Then all of sudden, it started to drizzle out of no where. Within 2 mins, it started to pour. I was like you've got to be kidding me. So there I was walking from one side of the campus to the other corner of the campus in the pouring rain. My little sweater soon started to soak. Anyway I made to the gym alive and started to work out. Lots cute guys with nice muscles lol. But I was already kinda in a bad mood and tired and I planned to work out a lot, so I didn't pay too much attention to the people.
The treadmills are facing the window at the side of the gym so when I was running, all I could see was the passenger passing by. Kinda interesting because I felt like a fish, you know, in a bowl. Well maybe a hamster, running on a treadmill and looking at people who were passing by unnoticed. I warmed up with 6.5 mph speed for 3 mins, then started to run from 7.0 ~ 8.5 mph speed for 26 minutes. Cooled down from 6.5mph to 5.5 mph in 4 mins and walked for 5 more mins. Did about 450 calories in 35 mins. It felt pretty good. I was drenching. Then I headed to the stretching area to calm down a bit, got some water, and then headed to the elliptical machines. I did 20 mins on that with resistance of 8. I kept my heart rate at 170 for weight loss purposes. After that I was just kinda dead. I am I could have done more on the machine but I just felt like leaving. Headed to the shower. My first time ever taken a shower on a school premise. No one was in the shower though.... Kinda disappointing lol.
Then I treated myself with a super sized jumba juice. I recommend Protein Berry Pizzazz. For a Original size, the nutrition content is probably the best in jumba juice selections. 400 calories, 87 Carb, 19 protein!! 5 fiber, and only around 70 sugar. I got a fiber boost along with it. It is a treat definitely!
Now I am home, it still feels soooo cold...

Today, Los Angeles is Los Angeles again. It took off its best New York impression and put on some much needed sunshine. Yes, the weather is gorgous today. It is absolutely refreshing. We have been suffering with the sad grey sky and annoying little drizzles for too long. It is 80 degree out there. Jumped from 60ish from yesterday!
I am so happy now. lol. sigh so easy to be pleased, now that if I can have a gorgous bf lol~~~

It snowed in Malibu. YES IT IS THE END OF THE WORLD. The news have been circulating all day long and the closing of I-5 has been the talk of the day. Reporters are all glowing in their inches deep makeups and smiling and talking about how crazy the snow is. I totally understand that it is rare to snow here and all, but the way they are reporting it is so dramatic. I love how a cuddly Canadian dude said "I am from Canada, it is cold but i don't see what the big fuss is and why they close down the freeway and all." Yeah, dude, I don't understand it either. I can appreciate the practical reasons behind. But oh my god, spoiled LA people. haha. I love LA for the very reason though.
